So, I'm a little bored here at work today. Here are a few of things I have though about today. Just felt like sharing.
I’m not sure the planners thought things through when they built the tunnel from the parking lot to the downtown complex. I’ve found that it is really hard to drag myself uphill into work on Monday morning. I mean really????! As if people don’t have enough trouble motivating their selves to come to work on Monday morning, then you go and destroy any motivation they had by making them walk up a long, uphill tunnel? Just a thought, make them walk uphill going home.
It’s amazing how getting an elevator today takes about a quarter of the time it usually does. It’s kind of nice.
I think the cafeteria would make a decent amount of money if they made Starbucks more than just at breakfast, lunch and the hour and half in the afternoon. I know I’d love for them to be open all day. There are just some days the require coffee all day!
Anyway, going to be going home to start the finial preperations for the Christmas craziness in about an hour. Hope all of you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!!

Warm Fuzzies

Last friday Anthony returned from his vacation with my parents. Mom brought him over with his stuff in the morning while Kateri was taking her morning nap. He came in and was telling me about his adventures. During the course of the conversation, he went over to where Kateri was sleeping on the floor. We asked him what he thought of her after not seeing her for a week. His response? "She's beautiful." Yep. Warm fuzzies for both Mom and I.

Getting Close!

Went to see the doctor yet again today. Seems all continues to go well. We'll see. They did the test for group B strep today. That's an easy fix though, so I'm not too stressed about it. I did ask about Hishimoto's Thyroiditis that Sue has been diagnosed with. The doctor found that intresting and said that we do want to go ahead and be sure to test for that. It will wait until after the baby is here though. So, we are all set with 5 weeks to go and counting. The guy across the hall from me at work said it's time to start the pool. He said they can do one for date, sex, and weight. LOL. Not sure if they will actually do that or not. I think he might just be trying to make up for having done so badly this year on his March Madness bracket.
Anyway, here's a little funny to go with this.

My friend in the basement
No. He's not imaginary. So, I was walking into work a week or so ago when I noticed that there was a new teller at the bank in the tunnels. He looked a little familiar. Since I was trying to get in to work, I didn't take the time to take a closer look. Fate worked with me though. Thanks to the baby brain I managed to forget my debit card at home and I needed money for breakfast and lunch. So, I went down to the bank to get some cash for the day. And he was the teller available. Turns out that he was one of Sarah's boyfriends in high schoold. He recognized me as well and we talked for a few minutes while I completed my transaction. He had just moved back in town few months ago. Now I see him down there every few days or so. There's this part of me that wants to be nice and socialable and at least say hi to him. On the other hand, there's this part of me that is afraid that he for some reason doesn't know about Sarah and I'm afraid to say anything. I'm afraid of that I'll stop to talk to him and he'll ask about her. And I just know that if that happens, I'm going to fall apart. It doesn't take much right now. Yay for hormones.

Just what I wanted to hear

OK. As if at nearly 6 months pregnant I don't already feel like a small barn, I just love the sensitivity of the in-laws. I had not seen them in about a week. I went over to pick up Anthony from them because they were kind enough to watch him so Marcus and I could catch a movie. The first thing my mother-in-law says is "Wow! You got really big this week!" And of course her husband agrees with her because that's what good and smart husbands do. *sigh* And I thought I've been doing pretty well. So here's a little cartoon to go with this. I thought it was appropriate.

Learning new things
So, I've lived in B'ville off and on for 14 years now and learned something new yesterday. I was working along yesterday morning after having braved the icy roads to come in late when a company e-mail pops up. Seems that due to falling ice, we were now trapped inside the building! Muhahaha!!! Just kidding. Almost though. The only way in or out is through the tunnels and other buildings. Something I had never noticed. And I used to live right down the street from this building for 6 of those years! Despite being one of the newest buildings in downtown B'ville, seems it has a rather big design flaw. Bet they loved finding that one out!

Rough weekend
Here is the summary of the third bad thing to happen in as many months. Bad things come in threes right?? Hopefully nothing else happens between now and May. Otherwise this little one is going to be born stressed and pulling their hair out like me. LOL.
Friday night my dad decided to have a mild heart attack. He's been in the hospital since then. I just talked to mom and it sounds like they are going to send him home today. Basically after we had dinner with the in-laws Friday and passed off Anthony to them for the night, we got a call from my mom saying that we needed to come get Evelyn so that she could take dad to the emergency room. He went for a bicycle ride Friday afternoon to test out his new heart monitor (since it was so nice) and had called her to come pick him up. He noticed that his heart rate was dropping when it should not have been and he lost his power. He had to walk up a hill he normally has no problem climbing. When mom picked him up, she noticed that he didn't even have the strength to pick up Evelyn. That combined with the tingling he said he felt was enough to make he take him in.
They ER did an EKG, blood work, and called in the heart doctor. They were concerned enough that they did an angiogram around 9. Meanwhile I was calling my brother, sister, and dad's big brother to try and let them know what was going on and keep them updated as well as watching Evelyn. And she was less than happy about the situation as well. Anyway, Saturday they went back and forth saying it was a heart attack, no it wasn't. They thought he could go home, then some of the tests came back and they didn't like what they saw. So he stayed there yesterday as well. Apparently they have decided that yes, he did have a very mild heart attack. I talked to mom a little while ago. It seems that he will go home sometime today. They have ordered him lunch, but say he can go after he gets his instructions and next appointment set up.
So, between the stress of keeping everyone updated, watching a very active 2-year-old, and worrying it was a rough weekend. So, I'm going home early to try to get some time to recover, de-stress, cope, and be alone.
